Cue the shopping-cart victory lap! Aldi just announced nationwide price cuts on roughly one-third of its everyday products, with more than $85 million in estimated savings headed straight to your wallet. The cuts are live now and run through at least November 3, so your fall grocery budget just got a serious glow-up.

What Aldi Is Slashing

The headline bargain is chicken lovers’ dream: Kirkwood chicken breast family packs are now $1.99 per pound, which Aldi says is the lowest everyday price since 2022. Stock the freezer and thank us later.

Fresh fall produce is getting the discount treatment too, including grapes, Bartlett pears, Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, spaghetti squash, fresh herbs, garlic, French beans, apples and potatoes. One report also flags Honeycrisp apples at $1.99 per pound, a 35% drop and the lowest price in over five years.

“At Aldi, value is a year-round promise, not a promotion.” — Scott Patton, Aldi Chief Commercial Officer

Why This Matters Right Now

Groceries are still running about 2.2% higher than a year ago, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, so every cent counts. Aldi’s cuts build on lower prices already in place for items like coffee, nuts, paper towels and protein shakes, and rivals including Kroger and Walmart have rolled out price reductions of their own. The grocery price war is officially on, and shoppers are the winners.

How to Max Out the Savings

Go big on protein. That $1.99-per-pound chicken freezes beautifully. Portion it into meal-size bags and you’ve banked weeks of dinners. Craving something saucy? Check out Aldi’s Sweet Heat Chicken Fillets for a fast-food-style dupe.

Roast the harvest. Butternut squash, Brussels sprouts and potatoes are all marked down, which means a sheet-pan dinner for pennies. Pair them with the new Fall Harvest Mac & Cheese for a cozy, budget-friendly feast.

Your Move, Deal Hunters

The cuts run through at least November 3, so there’s plenty of time to plan, but the best stuff has a way of vanishing from shelves. Grab your list, hit your local Aldi this week, and tell us in the comments: what’s the first thing going in your cart?
