Trader Joe’s just dropped Raspberry Filled Donuts, and based on the reaction rolling in from shoppers, this might be the most exciting thing to happen to TJ’s freezer section all summer. Six pillowy donut holes, one seriously generous glug of raspberry purée filling, and a $3.99 price tag that makes grabbing a box a total no-brainer. We are so here for this.
What exactly are these things?
Trader Joe’s describes the new bites as a mashup of “German Berliners, French beignets, and good-old American donut holes,” and honestly, that tracks. Each donut is round, soft, and blushed a pretty shade of pink thanks to beet powder, no artificial dye needed. Bite in and you get an airy, pillowy crumb followed by a rush of deep red raspberry-and-fruit-juice filling. They’re made in Belgium, they need about two hours to thaw in the fridge, and the suggested serving size is two per person (good luck stopping there).
This isn’t TJ’s first rodeo with jelly-filled bites, either. If you loved the chain’s cult-favorite S’mores Bars, consider these the fruity cousin you didn’t know you needed.
Shoppers are already obsessed (mostly)
Over on r/traderjoes, the hype is real. “I’m going to have to look for these now! Love jelly donuts!” one shopper wrote. Another fan didn’t hold back: “They’re actually incredible. I ate 5 of 6 tonight.” One enthusiastic taste-tester even admitted to eating them straight from the freezer, no thawing required — commitment we respect.

Not everyone is fully sold, of course — a few reviewers found the donuts on the smaller side, and the ingredient list is exactly what you’d expect from a freezer treat, not a health food. But if you’re grabbing these for what they actually are — a quick, gooey, ridiculously cheap dessert fix — the mixed reviews mostly boil down to “these are a treat, not a salad,” which, yeah, obviously.
